WINTER SKIN BODY SCRUB RECIPES

 

Pampering your body with this shower ritual every now and then is so beneficial. Especially in the cooler months.

Did you know that your skin is your largest organ and is VERY good at absorbing what is put on it straight into your blood stream? So best make it only natural products, edible even… and what could be more natural than a product, made at home from ingredients you can find in your pantry?

Not only does your skin feel refreshed and smooth, there are many physiological benefits as well, including boosting circulation, detoxification and renewal of skin cells. It is also a great way to use leftover coffee grounds. 

Give it a go and let me know how you find it! Every time I use my homemade body scrub (especially in Winter) I think to myself… ‘why don’t I do that more often’…

BODY SCRUB 2 WAYS

 

Makes about 1 ½ cups 

Prep time: 5 minutes

 

MOCHA & VANILLA

 

3 tablespoons coffee grounds, 

drained and cooled

5 tablespoons raw sugar 

2 tablespoons coconut sugar

2 tablespoons coconut oil, melted

3 tablespoons sea salt

1 teaspoon vanilla powder

1 teaspoon cacao powder

 

PEPPERMINT & LAVENDER

 

5 tablespoons coconut oil, melted 

5 tablespoons raw sugar

2 tablespoons coconut sugar 

3 tablespoons sea salt 

4 drops pure peppermint essential oil 

2 drops pure lavender essential oil

 

Combine ingredients in a wide jar, mix well with a fork. Gently rub onto wet skin once a week in a circular motion, avoiding eyes. Rinse well and pat dry.
