Yogi beings FAQ
Should certain circumstances prevent you in drinking from the copper? i.e:
Pregnancy does not prevent women from using their copperware as normal. However, if you wanted to be extra wary, continue using you bottle as normal, but don’t let the water sit overnight before drinking. Anything shorter than that time frame isn’t known to supercharge the water, but the natural antibacterial properties of copper are still in effect.
Particular ailments such as adrenal fatigue, immune disorders, stress etc
Storing water in pure copper only adds the minutest trace of copper well below the RDA, and the water is only supercharged after it has been stored in the bottle for at least 8-10 hours (which is why they recommend sipping the water in the morning). In these minutest trace amounts it is beneficial for the body that has been detailed above, and is not large enough to be harmful.
The introduction of additional copper to your system will wipe out zinc levels and induce negative or harmful ramifications
One theme that seems to be propping up these days is that “Excess Copper hampers Zinc absorption in our bodies leading to Zinc deficiencies…”.
First, the trace amounts of copper that you would receive from using the bottle aren’t known to be enough to hamper zinc absorption.
The depletion of Zinc in our bodies is a function of lifestyle choices, immune disorders and other various reasons, however one of the biggest reasons absorption of zinc is hampered is because of stress! More often than not, we are recommended that it is more actionable to reduce ‘this’ food, or eat more of ‘that.’ Telling someone to stress less has zero effect until they work it out for themselves. Thank god for Yoga!
