All-Purpose Cleaner and Surface Spray Recipes

Hey legend, it has been a while between DIY home and body product recipe posting around here. But that is about to change....

To make sure the Natural Harry DIY recipes are a balance of effective, natural, easy and with ingredints that are easy to come by (no 0.00000000000008ml of dragons eyelashes from Timbucktoo for one recipe) the process of creating the recipes, experimenting, trialing many times can be a long one but, I do get there... hahah.... feeling like a cray scientist at the moment! Stay tuned for many more amoungst the tasty wholefood plant based ones ;)
In the mean time, here are 2 of the most used at our house. Simple and epically easy to make! Enjoy. x

All Purpose Cleaner

Makes approx 500ml
Prep time: 2 minutes
Difficulty: Very easy

1 clean empty spray bottle
2 teaspoons sal suds (see recipe notes for info)
20 drops cirtus essential oil (I use orange)
500ml distilled water

Combine all ingredients in a clean, empty spray bottle, Attach nozzle, label and shake well to combine.

To use, spray over surface that needs cleaning, wipe with a warm, rinsed cloth. Leave or follow with surface spray.

Surface Spray and Wipe

Makes approx 500ml
Prep time: 2 minutes
Difficulty: Very easy

1 clean empty spray bottle
250ml white vinegar
250ml distilled water
1 lemon, juiced and strained
20-40 drops essential oil of choice

(my favourites: Teatree, rosemary, lemon, orange, peppermint, lavender, eucalyptus)

Combine all ingredients in a clean, empty spray bottle, Attach nozzle, label and shake well to combine.

To use, spray over surface that needs cleaning, wipe with a warm, rinsed cloth.

Some notes:
Vinegar is not the best on wood or natural stone or tile grout, omit the vinegar for these surfaces for more distilled water and perhaps a little rubbing alcohol.
My amber bottles are from natural cleaning products I have purchased and used up but you can do a quick google and find many suppliers these days. Or, better still, clean and use bottles you already have or ask around your circle of friends and family if they have some to spare! That is by far the most sustainable option.
For both of these recipes you will need about a 500ml spray bottle. If your bottle is smaller or larger, adjust the quantities in the recipe acordingly.
Sal Suds is a very concentrated natural all purpose surface cleaner made with plant-based surfactants and natural fir needle and spruce essential oils You can find it online, or I buy mine in my local bulk wholefoods store as I can bring my own jar and purchase the amount I need. It is cost effective as a very small amount goes a very long way.

How do you make the labels?? I’ve tried looking it up and can’t find those black labels anywhere

    1. Harry says:

Hi legend, I have a label maker but you could also use a permanent marker or write it on a tag and tie around the top of the container ? Hope that helps!
