DRY BODY BRUSHING

BRUSH YOURSELF HEALTHY 3 oct image 1

I have been dry body brushing most mornings before a shower for nearly a year now and it has made some amazing changes to my skin including getting rid of cellulite. Yup, you read right. But the biggest thing I noticed apart from the softer skin and nice feeling of a totally product free 5 minute spa treatment at home is that my circulation improved. I do my best to stay warm, keep moving if its cold, rug up, eat a wholelotta cinnamon and hell even my wet suit has a built in heater, yet I still exit the water with blue lips and white fingers. Somehow I stumbled upon an article on dry body brushing a while back. It boasted a myriad of health benefits including;

  • To aid in detoxification by opening the pores to release      stored toxins and activated the lymphatic system.
  •  Promotes circulation.
  • Can act as a “moving” meditation through methodical action of rubbing the skin.
  • Easy and free massage.
  • Reduces muscle tension.
  • Promotes energy for the morning and sends you into deep relaxation in the night.
  • Reduces cellulite by softening the deposits of hard fat beneath the skin ready for discharge.

And I am here to tell you: All of which are dead set true. Adding a 5-15 minute dry body brush to your morning or evening routine will have a profound effect on both your body and your mind.

You can find dry body brushes at most health food stores and even the body shop and well as online relatively inexpensively.

Take care to make sure you are buying a completely natural make. I found mine online at Bodecare where you will also find lots of other good information on the subject.

How? Simply start from your toes and work your way up to your shoulders all the while taking long strokes towards your heart. Here is an info graphic demonstration this.

Do dry body brush? How do you find it?

      Hi Phoebe,
      Awesome. It is without a doubt my favourite ritual. I have the brush that is handless with a strap to hold your hand in. I recommend one with a long handle so you can reach around to your back too! Bode Care is such beautiful quality though, you really cannot go wrong.
      Enjoy Beauty!
